The Wren Process
Get in touch!
Fill out my contact form with a few brief pieces of information.
For now, I’m focusing on designing gardens 1/4 acre or smaller within a 30 minute drive of Baltimore, Maryland. I am not able to do garden installations or hardscaping at this time, but can put you in touch with other industry professionals. Or, feel free to DIY!
2. Book a consultation.
We’ll meet in your space for 30-60 minutes depending on the scope of your project. I want to hear about the goals of your garden - any challenges you’re experiencing, the feelings you want your garden to evoke, the purposes you want your garden to serve. I will ask lots of questions, take lots of pictures, and may sketch out some initial ideas with you. Following our in-person consultation, you will receive a detailed scope of work along with an estimate and projected timeline.
There is a $75 consultation fee which will be deducted from your final invoice if and when you sign a contract with Wren.
3. Sign on the line.
Once we agree on the scope of work, you will receive an electronic contract. I will ask for 50% payment upon booking and the remainder upon completion of your project - when you are happy! Then we’ll get to work on your design proposal. At this time, I may also request to do a soil test and/or drainage test.
4. Relax, enjoy, and share.
Your garden has been designed! Hooray! You’ll be left with an all-native design that you can DIY or contract a landscaper or gardener. I’m happy to provide references. You will also get notes and photos about each species in your design, as well as a seasonal guide of wildlife-friendly maintenance techniques, so you’ll know how best to make your garden work for you. I hope you’ll share your garden with friends and neighbors. Imagine the impact your garden can have if you spread it throughout your community!
